No Way, I'm Your Son!

My son was helping me clean up today, and he didn't quite finish the job I had asked him to do, so I jokingly said to him, "You didn't clean it all up like I asked....If you worked for me you'd be fired!" And he responded without any hesitation, "No way, I'm your son!"

And those words hit me like a ton of bricks! You know what....that's exactly how it is with our Heavenly Father.

How many times have we "not finished the job"?
How many times have we messed up?

And how many times when we've been less than pleasing have we felt that maybe, just maybe, our Father is fed up; finished; upset; angry with us....and wanting to give up on us, or "fire us!"

I wasn't angry with my son at all for not finishing the job...he had done well, and did a great job, even though it wasn't "perfect", and you know, that's exactly how our Father thinks of us.

Sometimes we don't do it right-He is still proud of us!
Sometimes we mess it up completely-He is still for us!
Sometimes we are less than perfect..a lot less some days.... But He loves us. We're His kids and He is our Dad.

Galatians 4 says we're not slaves, but sons & daughters, and since we're His children we are heirs too! So we receive everything that's His.

I love my son Josiah. I think he's the best. Even when he isn't at his best, I'm still crazy about him 'cause he's my boy!

So today, know this....your dad loves you....He's crazy about you!
